Tips for Sponsoring
- Agree on a regular time for you and your sponsee to talk.
- Discuss assignments, reading, writing, and the nature of the disease.
- Work the Steps.
- Emphasize honesty.
- Don’t preach. Share your experience, strength, and hope.

When am I ready to sponsor?
- Sponsor up to the level of your experience, sharing as much recovery as you have.
- It may be helpful to discuss sponsoring with your own sponsor first, then begin sponsoring when you both feel it is right.
- We learn to sponsor by doing it.
