On December 3, the OA World Service Office will be moving to a new platform to make online contributions more cost-effective for the Fellowship. This change will save approximately US$25,000 per year in fees, allowing more of your contributions to support OA’s primary purpose.
What’s Changing
- A new online contribution form will launch at oa.org/contribute.
- The current PayPal-only contribution form and its black QR code will be discontinued. A PayPal option will still be available—you will see it in the new online form.
- The Contribution Portal at oacontribute.blackbaudportal.com will be discontinued and all member data in the portal will be securely deleted. You may wish to download a summary for your personal records before December 3.
- A new dark green QR code with the OA logo in the center will be available for download and link directly to oa.org/contribute.
What to Expect Starting December 3
- If you currently have an Automatic Recurring Contribution (ARC) or “recurring gift,” your schedule will continue without interruption. No action is required.
- To change, pause, or cancel your ARC, reply to any contribution email receipt or contact the World Service Office directly. This information will be included on all receipts and on oa.org/contribute.
- The new online contribution form will allow you to select your service body from a drop-down list and will provide a link to look up your meeting number, so your contribution can be recorded accurately.
- The new online form will also provide space for meaningful ways to contribute—whether in memory of an OA member, in celebration of a special day in OA or a personal recovery milestone, or by sharing a note about what inspired your contribution.
More Clarity in Contributions Reporting
In addition to the annual savings, the new system will greatly improve OA’s financial reporting to the Fellowship, providing clearer and more detailed quarterly and annual contributions information than ever before. We believe our improved reporting will raise awareness and support for our Seventh Tradition throughout the Fellowship.
