OA service bodies are encouraged to view and distribute One-on-One Outreach: Demonstration Video and Talking Points, a new resource that includes a video demonstration of conversational outreach to a health professional plus suggested talking points. The video is subtitled in 23 languages, which accounts for more than 99 percent of all non-English OA meetings and the “Talking Points” section of the document is available in 46 languages via our website’s translation feature.
The video shows an anonymous OA member engaging in relaxed conversation with a dietitian and confidently educating the dietitian about the experience, strength, and hope available in OA. The “Talking Points” echoes important points made during the video discussion.
Using One-on-One Professional Outreach, service bodies can educate and instill confidence in OA members, who may feel anxious and lack confidence about conducting professional outreach and discussing their OA program on their own. Use these helpful tools to train them so they’re inspired to say, “I can do that!”
One-on-One Professional Outreach: Demonstration Video and Talking Points is available on the Public Information and Professional Outreach (PIPO) web page and in the Document Library on oa.org.
