Lifeline Now Available in 47 Languages; Translation Editors Needed

Translation in 47 languages has been added to our Lifeline: Stories of Recovery blog at lifeline.oa.org. Now when an OA member or newcomer visits Lifeline, the website will automatically open in their preferred language. Right-to-left languages, such as Persian, Hebrew, and Arabic will even open in the browser with a new right-to-left format.

Translation has been made possible using the same software that was added to oa.org in June 2024. In addition to providing a higher level of translation that what is freely available on the internet, this software allows designated OA volunteers to make edits directly on the web pages to improve translations for fellow OA members who converse in non-English languages.

Already, more than a dozen volunteers have made more than 3,000 edits in seven languages. To become a volunteer, please read more about the opportunity and complete this form.

We are very excited for this new chapter in the history of Lifeline, and we anticipate reaching even more OA members as well as still-suffering compulsive eaters who are searching online for a solution.
