New ‘Inside OA’ Podcast: Unity with Diversity

In this episode of the Inside OA podcast, host Meg M. interviews Preston F., an OA trustee from Region Five who first came to OA in 2008. Preston experienced one year of relapse from 2015–2016 but never left the rooms of OA and has been abstinent since 2016.

Together, Meg and Preston discuss the role of OA’s Unity with Diversity policies in our recovery and our Fellowship as a whole, including:

  • the distinction between outside issues and the shared life experiences that may affect recovery for one group of OA members but not another
  • the value of specific-focus OA meetings
  • how a united and diverse Fellowship can enrich our emotional recovery as we begin to see ourselves and others in a new light

Preston also shares his love and enthusiasm for service above the group level and the meaning it has brought to his personal recovery.

If you want to broaden your perspective on the OA Fellowship and feel the real strength that it has to offer your recovery, check out this podcast!
