Region Nine Assembly and Greece Convention

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to our OA Region 9 Hybrid Assembly that will take place in Athens, Greece, from Wednesday, October 30th 2024 until Friday, November 1st 2024 and the Hybrid Convention that will follow, from Friday, November 1st, to Sunday, November 3rd 2024.

This year is the second time our Region is organising a hybrid assembly and convention, and we hope we can offer an even better experience than last year.

The hybrid assembly enables all service bodies to attend, including those affiliated to our Region and those who wish to participate. This is a great opportunity for all of us to meet, bond, and become strong, to get to know each other, to offer and receive hope and support, and to together carry the message of recovery to our areas and to all our Region.

We, the trusted servants of our Region, are working to maximise our participation now that technology can easily connect us. We will try to reach out to all service bodies to discuss the possibility of your representation.

This year, we have managed to offer a fully translatable webpage in 84 languages. This includes the material of our OA Region 9, Assembly 2024 (the link for the Assembly material is:  https://oaregion9.org/ass2024/).

English is the official language of our Assembly, but we are doing our best to support those who do not feel so confident with their English.

Important Information for the R9 Assembly 2024 

• Deadline for Registration (in-person and virtually) is October 15th, 2024. This year, to keep things simple, we have created a special webpage with all the information you will need for our Hybrid Assembly 2024.
• The Deadline for submitting a Motion is Friday, July 5, 2024. There is a separate document with a blank New Business Motion Form. You can send it to bylaws@oaregion9.org
• The Deadline for submitting a proposal for hosting the Assembly in 2025 and 2026 is Friday, August 16, 2024. You can send your proposal to chair@oaregion9.org or secretary@oaregion9.org
• The Deadline for submitting a Representative Financial Assistance Form is Monday, July 15, 2024. You will find a separate form that includes all the information you might need and the actual form.

Elections
This year, we will be holding elections for the following service positions:

• Secretary – 2 year term
• Treasurer – 2 year term
• Communications Officer or Digital Officer – 2-year term
• Delegate(s) to the World Service Business Conference – 1-year term

You can find a separate application form for each position. The deadline for sending your application is Tuesday, 31st of October 2024, 20:00.

Service Coordinators:

This year, we will confirm existing service coordinator positions and create new ones if the Assembly deems it necessary.
